On October 19, 2026, FSU Libraries’ Special Collections & Archives unveiled its new digital library, hosted on digital.lib.fsu.edu. Easier to navigate and more streamlined than ever, the new digital library is a one-stop-shop for rare and unique materials. These materials are not just limited to what can be found in-house at the Libraries, but extend to other FSU and regional community members.
Users of the digital library can explore millions of materials, including historic photos and videos of FSU’s history, rare books, newspapers, historic papers, maps, and more at the tip of their fingers! New features include a “Search Tips” option so users can learn how to yield the best results based on their research needs and the ability to set up RSS feeds for search results. Furthermore, new content is added regularly to the digital library, meaning that researchers can look forward to new materials appearing on a constant basis.
The old website, the former host of the digital library, repository.lib.fsu.edu, now exclusively hosts FSU’s research repository. This includes any scholarly output such as posters, presentations, dissertations, and research by any FSU faculty, staff, or alumni. In making this transition, Special Collections and Archives aims to enhance the research process, making their materials more findable and accessible.
