Program Development for Grant Writing: New Workshop Series for Faculty and Staff

The FSU Libraries Grants Team is conducting a series of workshops beginning November 19, focused on educating FSU Libraries staff and faculty on the process of applying for and researching grants. Everybody employed by FSU Libraries is encouraged to attend if they have any interest in procuring funding for the Libraries. Grants Specialist Marcee’ Mitchell stated that her team’s goal in these workshops is to “…encourage a more robust grant seeking culture by providing information and resources to facilitate the grant research, development, and award process for Library Faculty/Staff.” This will take the form of teaching you how to develop, compose, and consider your proposal’s audience.

An increase of confidence in the world of grant-seeking is absolutely essential for the future of innovation here at FSU Libraries. As it is written above the entrance to Dodd Hall: “The half of knowledge is to know where to find knowledge,” so too must we learn where to look for the grants that will fuel our ideas and initiatives. The workshops will also teach about the life cycle of a grant, how grants are managed, and proposal development strategies to provide a complete and thorough understanding of the process.

FSU Libraries staff and faculty can register for the grant workshop series here. The workshops will be conducted over Zoom on the assigned date and will last from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. If anyone has any questions, please reach out to Grants Specialist Marcee’ Mitchell at mlm10c@fsu.edu.
