FSU Libraries Introduces New Librarian: Nathanael Gay

Florida State University Libraries has recently appointed Nathanael Gay as its first Data Visualization and Analysis Librarian. This position was created to strengthen the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) for doctoral education. In this role, Nathanael will help advance FSU’s research mission as he provides consultation services to students and faculty related to data visualization and analysis methods across disciplines.

Nathanael brings a wealth of quantitative expertise to FSU, having served eighteen years as a mathematics and statistics professor at Keiser University. He holds a master’s degree in mathematics education from FSU, which enables him to combine his academic background with proven pedagogical experience. Since joining FSU Libraries, Nathanael has created a series of workshops focused on data analysis and visualization tools like RStudio. In his free time, Nathanael enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and sustainable gardening through rewilding practices.
