Leo Lo is currently working as the Dean of Libraries, University Librarian, Advisor to the Provost on AI Literacy, and Professor of Education at the University of Virginia. He holds a master’s degree in survey research and a doctorate in higher education management. After leaving FSU in 2008, Leo had the good fortune of landing a tenure track position at Kansas State University in 2009 where he would eventually obtain the position of research and development librarian. Following this, Leo took a job at the McClure Education Library at the University of Alabama. From there, he worked as an associate university librarian at Old Dominion University and as an associate dean at Penn State University. Afterwards, he served as the Dean of the College of University Libraries and Learning Services at the University of New Mexico. He is also currently the president of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).
One of Leo’s overarching career goals involves incorporating A.I. into the information sciences. To this end, he helps students and peers with their A.I. literacy skills. Going along with this sentiment then, Leo’s advice for student employees at FSU Libraries is to take advantage of the multitude of information resources. He emphasizes how knowledge in today’s world is merely a click away. Leo will continue to do amazing things in his career and we here at FSU Libraries wish him nothing but the best!
